Yes, demolition of all structures requires a demolition permit from the local municipality prior to any work beginning. Also, an asbestos survey must be done on all structures to ensure no asbestos is present in the structure. If asbestos is present, it must be removed/abated by an Asbestos Certified Contractor prior to demolition of the structure can begin. GA EPD must be notified of all Asbestos abatement and/or demolition of any structure prior to work beginning.
